BROOKE + MATT
A WIANNO CLUB CELEBRATION IN OSTERVILLE, MA
The sun was shining on the coast of Cape Cod for Matt and Brooke’s wedding day. This gorgeous couple may hail from New York, but as Matt’s family has a home in Cotuit, their roots are firmly planted in Massachusetts. So it was only natural that they should marry at the Wianno Club in Osterville.
Brooke is a nurse and she was very busy dealing with the realities of the pandemic throughout the planning process. But I was so thrilled to be able to work with her on the design of this romantic garden celebration.
On this lovely fall day, Brooke spent the morning and early afternoon with her bridesmaids being pampered by Amanda Jean Makeup and Hair by Daria. Her chic chignon was pinned to the base of her neck, romantic tendrils framing her flawless face.
The fitted silhouette of her Alyssa Kristin stretch-crepe gown, featuring a U-neckline and backline, coupled with her naturally glamorous makeup and sleek hair reminded us of a glowing Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy on her wedding day.
We just loved how sweet Brooke’s bridesmaids were. They were so concerned that the happy couple would have the best day of their lives. Spoiler alert: they did!
Brooke shared a sweet moment with her mom as she donned her cathedral-length veil, then had to keep herself from crying when her dad gave her a great big hug.
Meanwhile, Matt and his groomsmen were at his family home, suiting up in their tuxes. Matt looked very dapper as he buttoned his french cuffs.
Once everyone was wedding-ready, Brooke and Matt had their first look, including their pup, Pippa! With the smile on Matt’s face as he saw his bride for the first time, you could just tell he was bursting with joy. It made us, as well as the bridal party watching from above - teary-eyed!
Before heading over to the Sea View Lawn at the Wianno Club for the ceremony, the bridal party and Matt + Brooke’s families gathered for pictures.
The men looked as if they had leapt off the cover of GQ as they posed with golf clubs, an ode to Matt’s love of the sport. While the bride and her bridesmaids were a vision in white holding their lush ivory and green bouquets from Sweet Talk Floral.
Then it was off to the seaside ceremony where an arbor of white roses and dahlias, as well as dozens of friends and family, awaited the wedding party.
After exchanging vows and rings, Matt + Brooke sealed their love with a kiss before heading down the aisle (and getting in a few more kisses along the way). They climbed into the back of a vintage Packard Clipper to spend their first moments alone as husband and wife.
We are in love with these gorgeous portraits taken by Katherine Brackman Photography. Both the backdrop and the couple were stunning and the setting sun made the whole scene magical to witness.
Following the photos, Matt and Brooke traveled in style back to the Wianno Club for cocktail hour and decided to take a look in on the preparations being made in the ballroom. Brooke dreamed of creating a romantic garden reception and we made those dreams come true!
Surrounding the ballroom’s dance floor were several round tables draped in white tablecloths with Chiavari chairs. French blue napkins and crystal glasses graced each place setting.
Delicate vines hung from the chandeliers and wove their way through the tables down to the votive candle holders. Centerpieces of greenery and white roses sat in rattan vases.
Behind the head table, the smilax tucked throughout the trellis was actually part of their arbor that had been brought inside following the ceremony. Everything came together to create the perfect light and romantic setting that felt like coastal spring in the crisp fall air.
With the “I Dos” said and everything in place it was time to dance the night away! Matt and Brooke entered to cheers and applause as they twirled across the floor to “Here Tonight” by Brett Young. Matt swept Brooke right off her feet!
Friends and family looked on as Matt and his Mom swayed to Van Morrison’s “Days Like This” before Brooke and her dad took to the floor to share a dance to “Fly me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra.
Brooke + Matt barely left the floor for the rest of the night as their nearest and dearest joined them to dance to the music of the Sound Society Band. It was the perfect end to the perfect day.
Cheers to Matt + Brooke! Here’s to a lifetime of love and happiness!
