MICHELLE + ANDREW

A CLIFF HOUSE MAINE WEDDING ON CAPE NEDDICK

It’s not everyday that you plan a wedding at a venue that the Bride’s family built, but that was the case when we helped Michelle + Andrew create their dream day. Michelle’s maternal side was home to the late Captain Perkins who built the original Cliff House, a beautiful resort and wedding venue on Cape Neddick in Maine. In fact, the original resort was a playground for the rich and famous of the late 1800s. So it was only appropriate that Michelle + Andrew would hold their most special day in a place that held such wonderful memories for her family.

The morning of the wedding at the Cliff House, Michelle slipped into her delicate white lace gown with the help of her mother, who called Cape Neddick and the Ogunquit area home for years. Meanwhile, Andrew donned his steel blue suit that matched the wedding invitation suite from Isidore Augustine perfectly.

The two met at an altar covered in white blooms on the North Point Lawn of the Cliff House. It was in this beautiful setting that they said their “I Do’s” in front of their closest friends, family and the stunning Atlantic Ocean.

Afterwards the bridal party gathered on the rocks beneath Cliff House for portraits. The bridesmaids looked romantic in their powder blue dresses, while Andrew’s groomsmen were dapper in suits in shades of navy and steel blue.

Since we’re all about the details, we loved the personalized collar that Michelle + Andrew’s dog Lily wore for the festivities. How adorable!

The Cliff House, as well as the ocean, made for the perfect backdrop for these dreamy sunset portraits from The Leighton Co.

Awaiting guests inside Cliff House’s Atlantic Ballroom were round tables draped in classic white linens with tall floral centerpieces and low compotes featuring white and soft pink blooms. Flameless candles sparkled in votive holders and a menu was placed atop each place setting.

At the head table, light blue chiffon runners ran the length of the long table. Tall floral arrangements as well as wildflowers in small glass bud vases alternated with flameless pillar and votive candles. Atop the napkins at each setting, a customized gold acrylic name card was placed for each member of the wedding party.

When all of their guests had made their way to the Ballroom, Michelle + Andrew made a spectacular entrance onto the dance floor where they swayed to Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight.” And that was just the start to a beautiful evening and their happily ever after.

While every wedding is magical, it is extra special when there is family history involved and this was a celebration steeped in tradition.

Michelle + Andrew, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your dream wedding day. Here’s to many years of happiness and health!
