SAMANTHA + REID
A WINTER WEDDING AT THE STATE ROOM IN BOSTON, MA
Samantha + Reid were originally supposed to be married in February of 2021, but as we all know, a global pandemic postponed many a wedding. While their Boston roots run deep, this charming couple met while attending college on the West Coast. So while living in San Francisco - when they decided to tie the knot, they knew they wanted an East Coast celebration. Winter city weddings are so dreamy and this one at The State Room in Boston was a beauty!
The morning of their February 12, 2022 nuptials, Samantha and her bridesmaids got wedding-ready at her family home in Wayland. Before slipping into her elegant A-line gown, she and her closest friends shared a laugh in matching pink and white pajamas.
Her gorgeous white, light pink and mauve bouquet complemented her auburn hollywood waves which were pinned back by a glamorous rhinestone clip.
As Samantha made her way into the city, Reid and his groomsmen relaxed and played a friendly game of pool at the Kimpton Nine Zero Hotel.
The Boston skyline, including the iconic dome of the Massachusetts State House, made for a stunning background for these first look pictures that Katie Karlberg Photography captured in the Kimpton Penthouse Suite. Reid was absolutely speechless when he saw just how beautiful Samantha looked, he barely noticed the view!
To add to the historic charm of this city wedding, Samantha + Reid said their vows at the Old South Meeting House where the Boston Tea Party was planned during the Revolutionary War.
After the ceremony, the bridesmaids in their garnet velvet gowns and the groomsmen in their sharp blue suits, gathered together with Samantha + Reid outside of the Old City Hall for portraits.
Since it was such a beautiful February day, Samantha + Reid took a romantic stroll through the streets of Boston before making their way back to The State Room to dance the night away with family and friends.
Guests were welcomed to The State Room by a large vinyl seating chart on frosted acrylic covered in blooms by Sarah's Floral Design.
The head table was draped in mauve velvet while taper candles in gold holders were nestled within a lush runner of romantic winter greens and blooms.
Directly in front of Samantha + Reid’s place at the head table was a gorgeous spread of romantic floral arrangements to draw your eye to the center of the room.
Smilax greens climbed the venue’s stunning glass stairway where Samantha + Reid made their dramatic reception entrance.
Then, beneath a canopy of twinkling bistro lights, they had their first dance to “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding.
We just love how romantic a winter wedding in the city can be! Boston is full of gorgeous venues and stunning architecture that is perfect for any style of occasion. The State Room was the ideal locale for Samantha + Reid’s sophisticated celebration, which is certainly one we won’t forget!
Samantha + Reid, thank you so much for letting us play a part in your big day. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness together!
