A LAKEFRONT WEDDING AT LAKE SHORE VILLAGE RESORT IN WEARE, NH
I started working with Emi + Josh back in the spring of 2018. They had just moved to North Carolina and gotten engaged. Knowing they wanted their wedding to be back in Josh’s home state of New Hampshire, we immediately got to work - touring a bunch of venues up north and choosing the most perfectly gorgeous lake setting at Lake Shore Village Resort in Weare, NH.
The cool thing about this venue is that your guests have the ability to stay on-site. There are gorgeous, temperature-controlled cabins depending on the season, a plethora of activities on the lake beach and water during the day, a cute little snack shack - the option for a welcome pizza party the night before the wedding and a pancake breakfast the morning after. (And OH were those pancakes delicious!) The venue is reserved for you, your family and friends for the weekend and you really can’t go wrong with that - right?
Getting ready in the larger cabins was really great with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy the morning. The photo opportunities on the resort are endless, whether you’re indoors or out!
Emi and her bridesmaids were super fun and wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous fall scenery. How fun is the photo of them throwing leaves?
Their ceremony took place on the beach at the lakefront. Emi wanted to compliment the fall colors, trees and view - so we went with a floral arbor, some vintage apple crates and simple floral arrangements marking the aisle.
This ceremony was my most anticipated all season - as I was asked to officiate! I was a bit nervous leading up to the event but thankfully putting all the final planning details in place didn’t give me much time to focus too much on it. Emi + Josh wanted the ceremony to be short and sweet with a personal aspect, so I asked them lots of fun questions leading up to the day and was able to write something perfect for them. And people even laughed at my jokes! (Haha!)
Emi + Josh opted out of a first look, which gave them some alone time together after the ceremony to enjoy each other’s company. After some fun photo opportunities around the resort, they invited their wedding party in for a few shots on the dock and off to cocktail hour they went!
Cocktail hour took place on the lakefront dock next to the ceremony site. Simple cocktail tables wrapped in eucalyptus garland and romantic floating candles set the scene for a lovely evening!
Guests were lead into the tent by a gorgeous scroll seating chart, hand-calligraphed by me! Emi + Josh really wanted something a bit more unique than the more traditional table seating charts and we thought this was the perfect solution hanging from a moss adorned tree.
Time to party! Emi + Josh had their first dance choreographed. A super upbeat country tune - and it was AMAZING! Quite possibly the best first dance I’ve ever witnessed. From there, their guests joined them on the dance floor and their DJ Eduardo Alves kept it going for over 3-hours of nonstop dancing.
The final piece to the night was of course, cake, but also an 8’ dessert wall from Boston Backdrops that read “All you need is love, baklava and a little whoopie.” Josh’s family is Greek and his Mom made the most delicious baklava I’ve ever tasted! Emi’s family has a huge love for whoopies so combining the two was a no-brainer.
